ABOUT ME

I’m Alison Eder, a Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT), practicing under the supervision of Soni M. Gibbons, Psy.D. (PSY 1670). I provide depth-oriented, psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults, grounded in curiosity, care, and the belief that lasting change begins with self-compassion and insight into how past experiences shape the present.

I view therapy as a collaborative space to explore emotional patterns, relationships, and inner experiences that may be influencing your life in subtle or confusing ways. My approach is thoughtful and relational, focused on helping you better understand yourself rather than rushing toward surface-level solutions.

My priority is to create a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely met. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable or unfamiliar, especially if you’re unsure how to put your experiences into words. You don’t need to arrive with clear answers. We’ll move at a pace that feels supportive, allowing insight to emerge through conversation, reflection, and connection.

Together, we’ll explore the emotions, relational patterns, and early experiences that may be shaping how you think, feel, and relate today. As understanding deepens, change often unfolds naturally, creating greater clarity, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of alignment with yourself.

I am based at Pelican Cove Counseling Centers in Alhambra and offer in-person and online therapy for clients in the San Gabriel Valley, Pasadena, Northeast Los Angeles, and throughout California.
